J'ai racheté ce livre car je l'avais eu dans ma jeunesse et la maquette une fois monté est très impressionnanteCette ré-edition est fidèle à mes souvenirs le plus c'est que les pièces du bateau sont maintenant pré-découpées et le prix de cette ré-edition est vraiment très très attractif

Beaucoup de patience mais un magnifique résultat.Je recommande cette maquette au passionnés du Titanic.Cependant, il faut de la place une fois fini ...

J'ai acheté cette maquette pour un enfant de 9 ans. Il paraît qu'il a adoré même si son papa a dû lui prêter main forte pour la construire. La maquette est assez impressionnante par sa dimension, sans être excessive.

***WARNING SOME PARTS ARE MISLABELED*** I was upset when I saw that I must tear out sides and decks to switch two of sides that were incorrectly numbered and so were in the wrong place (many of the side hull pieces are close in size and shape). It's partly my fault for not checking numbering out beforehand and relying on the printed numbers (odd numbers for one side, even for the other) but this is a big goof by the manufacturer. Check, double-check and check again as someone once said. Sides 14 and 15 are switched on my set, watch the way the shadows form in the windows and keep both sides consistent regardless of number scheme.Tearing apart glued paper pieces is not easy as the paper rips and the resulting joints are not as strong, I am unhappy that the model will not look as good as it should have (I'm a bit of a perfectionist). What an ugly operation fixing this up has been, which included painting spots that got damaged. I do models to relax me, not to upset me. As I tried to finish with only the upper decks and smokestacks left to put on, I found the decks didn't fit in with the rest of the ship. I eventually gave up. The tolerances are so critical that any misalignment and you can't finish.The instructions could have been more complete (not everything is shown or explained fully), the diagrams leave much to be desired, they are small and do not show all views of the ship. I didn't see my mistake until I was ready to go on. They give you options for the many small parts, you can leave them out, for example you can use simpler parts to build wenches. I found not all places for such things (benches, vents) are marked on the decks so a little improvising can be done.I have built many paper models, if you are new to this field of endeavor, please go on line (Canon has a nice website) for free paper projects to get you started, you do not want to make this your first project. The models come in PDF format, you provide card stock paper, printer (can use lots of ink so be prepared), glue (I use Tacky Glue), scissors, hobby knife, ruler, cutting surface, toothpicks, clamps, a "scoring" tool (can be an old out-of-ink ballpoint pen)and other small tools. It takes patience and perseverance to get the more complex models built, so start simple. I often do easy box type houses and other simpler projects to keep myself sharp before attempting more complicated projects.The Titanic paper model has many parts and is very big, over 4 feet long, so find a good table to work on, you will need the tools mentioned above and glue (the paper is slightly glossy so my glue didn't hold the way it usually does, something else to add misery to my attempt). This is not for beginners, I use scissors to cut out the parts although many of them are perforated, perforation leaves undesirable dot-like edges which are better cut off, be sure to follow the instructions one step at a time. There is something about cutting, folding, and gluing that I find relaxing. However, with this model all I ended up with was frustration and trash.Seemed nice for the price, but it's flawed. Maybe only an expert, which I thought I was, can do it. oh well, I have a castle to build.

This is the best paper model of the Titanic I have ever seen (and you know that's a long list). There are about 8 pages of general history, with some nice illustrations and cutaways, to introduce the book and 24 pages (12" x 9") of cutout pieces. Many of the parts are perforated, though they often still need trimming with an x acto knife. Personally, I prefer straight cut when constructing paper models (for smooth lines), but you can still cut over the perforated line. The pieces are colored, and well designed. The only non-book component recommended is some sewing thread to represent the ship's cables. At the back of the book are the instructions, which take you through the building process step-by-step. The instructions are clearly detailed and explained, with labeled diagrams and a picture of what the finished sections will look like; there are also detailed pictures of the finished product. Instructions are in three columns: English, German and French (in case you want to jump column and impress your fellow modelers with your erudition). Just note, this is a large model, not something for your desk, unless you don't want to do much work, and not something you bang out during commercials. I got it for my nephew, so we'll put it together, add a Styrofoam base, take it out to the lake and detonate an M-80 below deck to get the full experience.

I bought this as a gift for one of my students, who's a Titanic enthusiast - knows everything about the ship and the sinking - and he loved it! That's the best review this book/model could hope for.

It was ok. The instruction wasn’t well explained. The book was bigger than an average sized book. Took me forever to finish. It has about 25 page of the piece. (note it is couple feet long when finished)

Too complicated for young puzzle solvers, otherwise very intricate and impressive in conception. The graphical planning is well-thought out. In fact, so well done as a printed piece that it seems almost a shame to cut it up.
